Why just letting go isn’t working for you….
Often the “Just Let Go” phrase will be thrown around but is it really that simple?
I use to find myself “letting go” one minute only for that same issue or problem to arise a day later. It was an exhausting negative feedback loop that didn’t work and here’s why. 👇
We must access safety first.
Accessing safety is very important and can be done in 4 different ways.
Physical Safety
Telling your nervous system that it’s safe to feel and be in your body. Can you allow yourself to physically feel the energy in your hands, toes etc?
Emotional Safety
For example, if you feel shameful about a certain event or situation what emotions are you feeling while that is active? You get to be the observer of your emotions here. No need to create stories around those emotions.
The Witness
Placing your awareness on a higher power such as God or your higher self. You can ask yourself, If I did feel safe, what would that look like and feel like?
External Safety
Placing your awareness on something or someone that makes you feel safe. That could be a partner or nature.
So next time you see the famous “Just Let Go ” quote, instead of just repeating “I’m letting go, I’m letting go” and moving on with your day, take some time to access safety and dive a bit deeper.
