Shiiiitttt another holiday weekend…..
Those are the exact words that use to come out of my mouth any time there was an event or a holiday around the corner.
Food was on my mind 24/7. 🤯
How am I going to pull this off? Do I even go to the event? Should I bring my food scale to weigh all my food? What if I decide to have a bite of cake and go off the rails because who wants to stop after one bite of cake? Even worse. What if someone asks me if I want dessert and I feel pressured to say yes? 😫
My solution: Just meal prep my food so that way I know exactly what’s in it and bring it to the event OR make an excuse as to why I couldn’t be there.
Also, I forgot to mention that solution robbed me of living my life. 🤦♀️
My thoughts were rooted in fear and control. The more I thought about NOT doing all those things the more they happened.
Why the hell was wrong with me?
Did you know the more you place awareness on an area of your life you want to “change” the more it continues showing up in your life?
Once I stopped obsessing about food, started getting to the root cause (which were my beliefs) let me repeat that: the root cause = beliefs, from that place I was able to see the other side. The life I was actually supposed to be living which brings me great joy and peace. A life where I trust myself and feel safe in my body.
As we go into the holiday weekend remember this: IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FOOD!
So eat the bomb pops and have some 🍰 cake.
