Initially I wasn’t going to share this with the world but what I know to be true is this: pain is the catalyst to growth.
Those who have walked this path before have inspired me. My hope is to do the same for anyone who feels alone or like they are being judged for making a decision that is ultimately best for them.
Let me take you back 7.5 years ago….
I remember waking up one day my sophomore year of college with cystic acne (which was new for me-I had mild teen acne but nothing like this before.)
I thought it would go away with an OTC face wash or something but before I knew it I was a regular patient at the dermatologist and from sophomore year up until this year had exhausted the list of my acne treatment options.
I had resisted Accutane after being offered it multiple times for the last couple of years. But, after having some real conversations with loved ones and professionals, I knew this was the decision I wanted to make.
Today is day one.

I am feeling all the feels and embracing them as they come.
⚡️ If you are battling cystic acne or any sort of acne for that matter just know I am right there with you.
I have spent a lot of days and nights down in the dumps and in pain with my skin.
